Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about the Explorer Program admissions process.

Can I apply if my school is not an Explorer Partner?

Yes! While students from partner schools receive priority consideration, we accept direct applications from motivated students at any qualifying school. If accepted, we work with your school to accommodate the Explorer schedule.

What is the minimum GPA or grade requirement?

We typically look for students with a minimum 75% overall average or equivalent (B+ or higher). However, we take a holistic approach and consider your strengths in relevant subjects, extracurricular involvement, and personal statement alongside grades.

How many courses can I take per semester?

Most students take 1-2 Explorer courses per semester alongside their regular curriculum. This allows you to balance university-level work with your national curriculum requirements without feeling overwhelmed.

What happens if I don't pass an Explorer course?

If you don't pass a course, the grade will not appear on your university transcript (transcript notation varies by partner university). You may have the opportunity to retake the course in a subsequent term, subject to availability.

Can I apply for financial aid at the same time as admission?

Yes, you can apply for financial aid simultaneously with your admission application. Simply check the financial aid box on your application and submit the required financial documentation. Aid decisions are communicated alongside admission decisions.

How long does the application review process take?

Applications are typically reviewed within 2-3 weeks of receiving all required materials. During peak periods (near deadlines), it may take up to 4 weeks. You will receive email updates on your application status throughout the process.
