How to Apply for Scholarships
All scholarship applications are submitted as part of your Explorer Program admission application. Here's what you need to know.
Complete your Explorer Program admission application. All applicants are automatically considered for the Merit Achievement Award based on their academic records.
Indicate which specialized scholarships you wish to be considered for. You can apply for multiple scholarships, but will only receive one award.
Write a 500-750 word essay responding to the scholarship prompt. Each scholarship category has a specific essay topic designed to assess fit for that award.
Submit any additional materials required for your chosen scholarship (e.g., portfolio for Creative Arts, community service documentation for Community Impact).

Scholarship FAQ
Can I receive both a scholarship and financial aid?
Yes! Scholarships and need-based financial aid can be combined. If you receive a scholarship that doesn't cover full tuition, you can still apply for financial aid to cover the remaining balance.
Are scholarships renewable?
Most Explorer scholarships are awarded on an annual basis. To renew your scholarship, you must maintain satisfactory academic performance in Explorer courses and remain in good standing.
Can I apply for multiple scholarships?
Yes, you can indicate interest in multiple scholarship categories. However, if selected, you will receive only one scholarship award (the highest value for which you qualify).
When will I hear about my scholarship decision?
Scholarship decisions are communicated alongside admission decisions, typically 2-3 weeks after submitting your complete application. Priority deadline applicants receive decisions first.
What if I'm not selected for a scholarship?
Students not selected for scholarships may still be eligible for need-based financial aid. We encourage all students with financial need to complete the financial aid application.
